Zeda Ray's Story

Zeda Ray, Author, Chronic Illness Warrior, hEDS, MCAS, Dysautonomia, Awareness, Advocacy

Zeda Ray, 42, hails from Bulloch County, Ga.

Her debut book, "A Zebra's Tale: The Fight of My Life," marks her journey into writing.

Writing has always been her mode of expression, allowing her to articulate thoughts with clarity instead of fumbling through words. Zeda, who faced challenges in verbal communication, found solace in the written word.

The idea of penning a book never crossed Zeda's mind. She had only completed reading three books in her lifetime due to struggles with comprehension and focus. However, her dedication to research and reading stories of others with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) led her to consume more content in the past four years than ever before.

Driven by a sense of purpose, Zeda decided to narrate her journey with the Pentad Super-Syndrome comprising of hEDS, Dysautonomia, MCAS, Gastrointestinal Dysmotility, and Autoimmune Disease. Her mission is to raise awareness about these frequently misdiagnosed conditions among both medical professionals and the general public, particularly those experiencing a myriad of symptoms. She envisions a future with increased research, enhanced treatment options, improved medical support, and a broader understanding of these illnesses.
